it can get pretty hot under the scorching sun of Sapa mountains. and since these ladies walk down the path to their village daily, they knew better as to carry an umbrella with them although their clothes were very covered. well, i remembered coming back to the room at the end of the day with a bad sunburn - as carrying an umbrella for me is to look diva-ish. only when you are a tourist.
